Weekend Joys

The plan was to write everyday of the season of Lent—well its only a few days in and I have already forgotten to write and share. I wrote Friday, just did not get around to sharing it—so you will get that post tomorrow. But the joy I have found in this weekend are as follows:

  • Seeing a dear friend for the first time in six years

  • Finally getting to meet said friend’s wife and having him meet my husband

  • Sharing the place we live in with our friends

  • Eating really good food

  • Being so busy and having so much fun that I forgot to post

  • Feeling really good emotionally, physically, and mentally

  • Actually using my weekend

  • A clean house

  • Fresh flowers

  • Breakfast quiche, weekend breakfasts

  • Long walks outside in the springtime sun

  • Sprinkled ice cream cones

  • Will having time off and getting to spend it together

  • The peace I feel writing out my joys

  • Feeling well rested to enter into a fresh week

  • Driving with the windows down and the sunroof opened

  • New sheets

  • Washing new sheets and putting them on my bed—I cannot wait to slide into those fresh sheets tonight!

A busy weekend that has left me feeling actually incredibly rested. I was feeling cranky earlier this afternoon and found myself dreading the start of another week but I will say, writing down my joys and acknowledging all the lovely, wonderful moments I have enjoyed this weekend has left me feeling rested and prepared to enter into a fresh new week.

May the God of joy, community, love, and peace find you where you are this week.

May God bless today and everyday for you and your loved ones.

Peace and Joy, Margaret
