Seeking Sunsets

"When your world moves too fast and you lose yourself in the chaos, introduce yourself to each color of the sunset. Reacquaint yourself with the earth beneath your feet. Thank the air that surrounds you with every breath you take. Find yourself in the appreciation of life."

--Christy Ann Martine

I love sunsets. I love watching the sun dip low in the sky and if you're not careful, if you divert your eyes for even just a moment you will miss the sun disappearing. Once a sunset starts there is nothing that will stop it, my only job is to make sure that I watch it. In my last post I mentioned that I am trying to simply be--watching sunsets is one of my favorite mindfulness practices. Watching a sunset requires me to simply sit, watch, and be present fully in the moment. The Pitt Street Bridge in the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant, SC is without a doubt one of my all time favorite spots to go for an afternoon walk and catch a sunset. As a child, my grandfather used to take me to the Old Bridge to have picnics! If you are ever in the Charleston area, I highly suggest making a trip out to the Old Bridge, you will not be disappointed.Peace, Joy, and All My Love,Margaret
